Accolades for Puffersoft Labs and O’Connor’s at the National Infocomm Awards 2012

National Infocomm Awards

23rd October 2012: Raffles City Convention Centre.

Co-organised by the InfoComm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and Singapore infoComm Technology Federation (SiTF), the NIA is the nation’s highest accolade for ICT innovation.

Puffersoft Labs’ Enterprise Service Provisioning Solution (ESP) was named the Most Innovative Infocomm Product in the 2012 National InfoComm Awards (NIA).

For the most Innovative Infocomm Product categoty, nominees were evaluated based on the solution’s innovativeness and use of emerging or advanced technology. The solution should also have a made a positive impact on the organisation’s customers, and have attained some form of local, regional or international market presence.

In a second award, KKH Women’s and Children hospital won the award for Most Innovative Use of InfoComm Technology (Public Sector) for it’s Surgical Counting and Operating Theatre Tracking (SCOTT) System.

Developed by O’Connor’s, SCOTT is an RFID based system used in operating theatres (OT) and is used to keep track and automate the counting of surgical instruments and gauzes in order to improve patient safety and staff productivity.

For the Most Innovative Use of Infocomm Technology in public sector category, the judges were looking to see how these organisations have effectively and innovatively deployed technology to reap significant improvements in productivity or competitiveness. Other criterias include ease of implementation and “first of it’s kind” soluttion being used in Singapore.
